Edwin Reinhart is 57, Marisa Reinhart is 54.
(Xavier is 25, Melanie is 27, Olivia is 5, Cedric is 1, Cercie is 21)
Narrated by Edwin Reinhart.
Fortune Shores sure has changed in the last year or so. Marisa and I still live in the same house we’ve always lived in, but the rest of the town seems to have completely transformed in front of our very eyes. Truthfully, I really like the new changes. The town has never looked better!
Marisa and I have the house to ourselves now. Both of our children are all grown up. Xavier has a family of his own now, and Cercie is away at college. It’s the first time in a long time that we’ve had some peace and quiet. And I rather like it. We tend to sleep in nowadays, since we do not have any kids making noise and waking us up.
Then we have a nice and quiet breakfast. We’re not used to the lack of noise, so it was a little lonely at first. But we’ve come to really enjoy our quiet mornings.
The rest of our day is anything but quiet. Marisa is still working at Fortune Shores Memorial Hospital where she sees patients during the day. She is an OBGYN doctor and has delivered just about all of the babies in town, although some of the other doctors have helped out during the baby boom periods.
Marisa is also the Chief of Staff at FSMH, so after a full day of seeing patients and delivering babies she still has quite a bit of work to do. Mostly paperwork, but it can still keep her in the office until well into the evening. She used to also be a professor at Fortune Shores University, but she gave up that position because she just doesn’t have enough hours in the day to do it all. I believe Richard Linwood has taken over that teaching position.
And as for me, I played professional basketball for a good part of my life and am now a Hall of Famer. That mean I don’t have many duties other than publicity events, so I spend the majority of my time working as the Athletics professor at FSU.
My students say that I am a demanding professor, but they know I have their best interests in mind. You don’t get to be a Hall of Famer by slacking off, you know.
My classes mainly consist of students that want to play professional ball of some sort, so it really is right up my alley. I enjoy showing these kids what I know, and I will take pride in helping them achieve greatness.
And of course I love the job because I get to play my favorite sport all day long. You can’t beat that!
Marisa and I still find time for romance in our busy days. We’ve been married about 31 years now and are still just as in love as the day we first met.
We usually try to spend time with our kids and grandkids on the weekends. Xavier is our oldest child and only son. He graduated from college about 3 years ago and has been working hard since then. We are very proud of him.
He is married to one of the many Linwood siblings, Melanie. Together they have two children, Olivia and Cedric. The cutest grandkids anyone could ever hope for.
I really enjoy my visits with Xavier and his family. Xavier and I never run out of things to talk about, even though he is very tight-lipped about his job. He won’t tell us what he does exactly, but I know that he was promoted pretty early and is running a part of the company. He says his work is classified and confidential, so it must be something really important.
His daughter, Olivia, is a lot like him in many ways. They are very close, much like how we were when Xavier was younger. Olivia is in Pre-K5 this year, although I really think she is smart enough for at least 1st grade. Of course, I could be a little biased.
Now I love Olivia very much, but Cedric has a special place in my heart because he will be carrying on the Reinhart name into the future generations, and my name is something that means very much to me. Hundreds of years from now I hope that Reinharts will still be living in Fortune Shores.
I still have hope that Xavier and Melanie will give me more grandchildren. They’re both still very young, and I would love a whole slew of Reinharts for the 3rd generation.
Marisa and Melanie get along very well. Usually mother and daughter-in-laws do not see eye to eye, but Marisa and Melanie are very good friends. Melanie and Xavier even lived with us for awhile after college, and I was surprised at just how close the girls became.
This last visit, Marisa and I discussed our future plans with Xavier and Melanie. After a lifetime of accumulating wealth and some would say being obsessed with it, I have decided that I want to give some of it back to the community. So I have decided to donate 10% of my wealth to two different institutions in town. The Athletic department at FSU is in desperate need of funds (the gym isn’t even completed yet!), and so is the hospital where Marisa works. Seeing as how this will greatly affect Xavier and Cercie’s inheritance, I thought it only best to let them know before I did it. Xavier wasn’t too happy about it. He felt that 10% was a little much, but he understood why I feel the need to do this.
We usually head to downtown Fortune City to visit with Cercie since she is currently living in the dorms on the FSU campus and does not have a car. We usually take her out to dinner, at our favorite place called Londoste. It is an upscale restaurant in the heart of Fortune City. It suits us perfectly.
Marisa is always very concerned about Cercie’s grades. Unlike her brother, Cercie loves to party and have a good time. But she’s also always been a hard worker, so I really do not think there is anything to worry about.
Cercie takes after my own heart and has a love of money, so she was definitely not pleased to hear about my plans to donate all of this money. I felt the same way when I was her age, but after a lifetime of experience I have seen that there are more important things than amassing a huge fortune that you cannot possibly use before you die. So why not give it away to help your community and its future residents?
I feel much better at the end of the day knowing that I have made a difference in this town, and that my descendants will leave their own mark in their own way.
Notes:
- Edwin Reinhart is the one to draw the “donate to charity” ROS this round. It couldn’t have happened to a better family because they are definitely the richest family in town. They donated roughly $20,000 which was split between the university and the hospital.
- It probably wasn’t clear in the update because Edwin really does not know what his son Xavier does for a living. Xavier got some pretty early promotions and is now a Criminal Mastermind. He is the second one in town and is currently in a territory struggle with the other crime lord, Ivy Linwood. But you’ll hear more about that in the next update!
Oh, I adore the family portraits you have up in Edwin and Marisa’s house! That reminds me to put up Aaron and Calvin’s pics again (I moved them recently).
Sounds like it might be for the best that Edwin doesn’t know what Xavier does for a living. I’m looking forward to hearing more about your criminals – that’s a career I haven’t really done much with in my game.
Well I learned how to do those family pictures from your awesome tutorials! So thanks for that. And also thanks for commenting. It’s so nice to be back in the simming community. I’m looking forward to exploring Xavier’s criminal career too, so it should be interesting!
Xavier looks so much like his daddy! I wouldn’t have guessed he was a criminal, I was thinking that he worked in the intelligence career.
That’s what he wants people to believe, that he works for the FBI or something. But a few people know what he really does, like his rival crime boss Ivy Linwood and one of his henchmen.
Only just found your blog, think Sullivan Sims tweeted about you. Am already hooked though, even though I don’t much know the characters. You got beautiful pictures and interesting sims…makes me miss sims 2 so much!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting Speechless! If you’re up for an adventure you can read the posts on my old blog…there’s 5 rounds worth of posts covering 2 whole years of real life game play over there. But I must warn you that it’s nothing like the pictures you see here! Let’s just say I’ve learned a lot about picture taking and about the game in general since then, lol. But I’ll also be going into a little more detail about the sims in this first round so we can all get better acquainted!
Welcome back! I love that you wrote this so well that even WE didn’t know that he was in the criminal career track :). Xavier does seem to be a bit nicer than my Derick Pace is though lol. I’m definitely planning to check out the old blog to get acquainted with the characters. And I think we all cringe at the pictures we took in the beginning, I know I do!
Xavier is definitely a nice family guy on the surface (and genuinely), but when it comes to work he’s a completely different guy. Although that may be changing for him soon, but you’ll see soon enough! Thanks for stopping by, reading, and commenting. I think you’ll cringe at my old pictures for sure! Lol.
How wonderful that he donated so much for the hospital and university, seeing the bare walls in the gym, lol. The family portraits are beautiful, especially Xavier and Melanie’s wedding photo.
I don’t have any criminal sims in my ‘hood right now, only some corrupt ones. I can’t wait to hear about Xavier’s territory struggle with Ivy. And wow, he got promoted fast!
The bare walls in the gym was an accident that just so happened to fit perfectly into the donation ROS set up. Lol, I must have lost those walls when I was moving this hood over to my new computer! But thanks to Edwin’s donation they can be fixed!
Xavier did get promoted fast because that was back before I started playing in a more realistic manner. Back then I was playing a pure old Prosperity Challenge, and my sims sky-rocketed to the top of their career each and every time. It’s going to be much slower from now on!
